It was a 100% child-led campaign supported by HKCCR with the aim to promote children’s voice. Ten children aged from 12 to 18 were recruited in the 2022 summer. HKCCR provided child rights training and child friendly platforms for them to brainstorm for campaign ideas. Campaign team members thought children and adults’ perspectives and experiences differ, resulting in a divide that prohibits them from understanding each other. Therefore, they decided to launch an AS A CHILD Campaign to bridge the gap between children and adults, and let children’s ideas be seen and embodied.
AS A CHILD Campaign included a social media campaign and a market was organized on 29 December 2022 at the Kennedy Town waterfront with fun booths, performances and the most popular Kids’ Show where children could perform anything they want on stage. More than 700 children and families took part on the day.
